Privacy policy
How MyCards handles your cards, camera access, website visits and Google AdMob advertising.
1. Publisher, data controller and scope
MyCards is published by José Rojas Jimenez, who is responsible for the processing described in this notice. For privacy questions or requests, email info@joserojas.ch. This notice covers the MyCards mobile app and the website at mycards.joserojas.ch, including its privacy and terms pages. It distinguishes locally stored cards from advertising, website connection data and support messages.
2. Your cards and local storage
You enter store names and scan barcode values to create cards. MyCards stores these data locally on your device to organise and display your cards. No account or publisher-operated cloud synchronisation is required. The publisher does not receive your saved card names or barcode values, and the card feature does not send them to AdMob. The app does not integrate a separate analytics or crash-reporting service operated by the publisher. Advertising services can process their own technical data as described below.
3. Camera permission
The app requests camera permission to scan a barcode when you choose that function. You can manage or revoke permission in your device settings. The camera is used to read the code; the card feature does not require uploading camera footage to the publisher. The website demonstration does not access your camera.
4. Device backups and deletion
The operating system may back up app data, depending on your device and account settings. Such backups are controlled by your operating-system provider, not a MyCards cloud service. You can remove saved cards in the app or clear app data through your device controls. Uninstalling or deleting local data may not remove copies in device backups; manage those separately with your backup provider.
5. Google AdMob advertising
MyCards integrates Google AdMob to display advertising. Depending on the SDK configuration, enabled features and your choices, Google's SDK may collect and share an IP address (which can indicate approximate location), device or advertising identifiers, app and ad interactions, and diagnostic data. These data support ad delivery, measurement and fraud prevention. Ads require an internet connection; saved cards remain usable offline. The local card content is separate from advertising-related technical data. Advertising data processing and retention depend on Google's policies and any advertising partners configured for the app. See Google's privacy policy and Google's SDK data disclosure.
6. Advertising choices and purposes
Where consent is required, the app presents advertising privacy choices, including a Do not consent option. You can reopen advertising privacy choices from Settings to review or change your decision and withdraw consent. Refusing consent does not prevent you from adding or displaying cards. Advertising processing that requires consent must wait for it. Depending on your choices and the applicable advertising settings, ads may be personalised, non-personalised or limited; non-personalised and limited ads may still involve technical data processing. Advertising partners and their purposes are identified in the consent message. The website does not display AdMob ads or manage the app’s advertising consent.
7. Website visits and contact messages
This website provides information about MyCards and hosts its privacy policy and terms. It does not add analytics tools, advertising scripts or tracking cookies. Demonstration cards remain in the page’s memory and disappear when the page reloads. Website and email hosting are provided by Value Hosted. The hosting service may process IP addresses, request times, requested pages, browser or device information and other connection data to deliver, maintain and secure the site. Technical logs are subject to the provider’s applicable retention arrangements.
If you contact info@joserojas.ch, José Rojas Jimenez handles your message personally. Your email address, message, attachments and related metadata are used to respond and manage your request. Correspondence is retained for as long as necessary to handle the request, follow-up and applicable legal obligations or disputes. Please do not send card codes or other personal information that is unnecessary for your request.
8. Legal bases, recipients and international processing
Where a legal basis is required, local card functionality fulfils your request to use the app. Support and website security rely on legitimate interests in answering requests and maintaining a secure service, subject to your rights. Consent is used for advertising processing that requires it. Processing may also be necessary to comply with legal obligations.
Recipients include Value Hosted for website and email hosting, Google and the advertising partners identified in the app’s consent message, and your chosen device-backup provider if you enable backups. These services may process data outside your country. Value Hosted lists infrastructure in the United States and the United Kingdom. Google may process advertising data internationally, including in the United States. Data protection laws can differ between countries. Google describes its applicable transfer safeguards in its data-transfer information. Backup processing depends on your chosen provider and account settings. You can contact info@joserojas.ch for further information about the providers and processing relevant to MyCards.
9. Your rights
Depending on applicable law, you may request access, correction, deletion or restriction of personal data, object to certain processing, request portability, withdraw consent, and complain to a competent data protection authority. Contact info@joserojas.ch. The publisher cannot remotely read or change cards stored only on your device; use the app and device controls for those records. Requests concerning provider backups or Google data may also need to be directed to the relevant provider.
10. Young users
MyCards is intended for users aged 13 and over and is not directed at children under 13. No account or date of birth is required. Parents or guardians with questions about their child’s privacy can contact info@joserojas.ch.
11. Changes
This notice describes local card functionality, integrated Google AdMob advertising, website hosting and support correspondence. Material changes to processing will be reflected in an updated notice and any necessary in-app information or consent before the changed processing begins. The date above identifies the latest revision.
